The Partnership has been involved in planning and urban design since 1956 when the development plan for the University of Southampton was prepared, followed by that of the University of Sussex.

Modern city problems are caused by a variety of factors. Even the best Urban Design cannot overcome all difficulties, but it should provide an environment, which makes it is easier to provide remedies.

JSBP is situated in the London Metropolitan Green Belt and from this base we have easy access to the Hertfordshire "Garden Cities" developed in the 20th Century. We look to these and other successful examples from around the world for inspiration. And then exploit the landscape and man-made features of the site to provide an integrated proposal.
